Stay Safe: Complete A Checkup On Your Google Security

It seems like every week on the news we read about a new ‘hack’ or someone’s data being stolen. Your Westside Google account is a prime target for thieves. Because of the important data we have in our email, it is important to keep it secure. Google has released a tool to help you perform a ‘security checkup’ on your account. We recommended you do this at the start of each semester (or more!)

The link below will take you to a handout where you will be shown how to perform the security checkup. It will let you look at which devices you have signed into your Google account from (and where they are located) along with showing you which applications/websites/services you have granted access to your WCS Google Account. Granting access is okay and is needed to log into things like Explain Everything, Chrome, Apple Mail and other sites you click ‘Log in With Google’ on. However, if you see things that you no longer use, or things you don’t recognize, it would be wise to revoke access. The handout will tell you how!
